The Caribbean Tourism Organization has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB], and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments under the project Caribbean Hotel Energy Efficiency Action (CHENACT) Project for the procurement and installation of distributed photovoltaic power systems.
The CHENACT Project Management Unit now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for three (3) 7-10-kilowatt (kW) grid-interconnected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, specifically the procurement of roof-mounted PV systems with all necessary elements for connection to the electrical grid, control, monitoring, ancillary equipment and accessories, to be installed at three hotels in Barbados. This procurement process requires bidders to have the following specific experience and/or capabilities: 1) have successfully completed similar projects in the past three (3) years; 2) must confirm/demonstrate that they have experience with supply/installation of similar equipment suitable to the climate of Barbados or other similarly situated islands with strong winds and 3) be in financial good standing. The delivery/construction period is 60 days.
Bidding will be conducted through international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the Inter-American Development Bank’s Policies for Procurement of Works and Goods financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the policies.

All bids must be delivered to the address below by 3.00pm on Monday October 24th. They will be opened by the CHENACT PV Demonstration Evaluation Committee on Tuesday October 25th at 10.30 am in the presence of bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend, at the address below. Late bids will be rejected. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of US$15,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
Maximum Budget is US$140,000.
